Discovery’s core purpose is to make people healthier and enhance and protect their lives.
For our clients, we deliver on this core purpose through products and services that empower them to take good care of their health. We also provide them with financial protection against many of the financial burdens that come with poor health.
But our commitment to helping people extends beyond the boundaries of our business. Discovery’s corporate social responsibility strategy allows us to deliver our core purpose to the broader community.
For this reason, the focus of our corporate social investment activities is on resource development to enable healthier communities. Discovery contributes 2.2% of after-tax profits to the Discovery Fund (0.75%), the Discovery Foundation (0.75%) and the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation (0.7%). The Discovery Foundation also uses its shareholding to invest in healthcare education.
